June 13 - Block Party at Brown Elementary

We’re excited to throw a South Harbor Block Party at Brown Elementary on Wednesday, June 13, at 5:30pm, at Bicentennial Park in Byron Center.  Come on out for this free event and join us in supporting kids, families and staff at Brown!  If you are interested in volunteering at this event, you can sign up here.

June 18-22 – Camp Geneva

You can go to camp anytime in the summer, and to any camp. However, during this week, Pastor Tom and his family will be on Shores side (DayCamp, those going into 1st through 4th, overnight 4th through 6th) as Chaplain’s with Fair Haven’s Hannah Dykstra. Student Ministry Pastor Chris Thompson will be chaplain on Pines for those going into 7th through 9th. You can find out more at http://www.campgeneva.org.

Youth Week, June 24-30

This summer, all of our campuses (Fair Haven, South Harbor, and Harbor Life) are joining together for a week of service and growth for Middle School and High School students. Students will be involved in service projects throughout the greater Grand Rapids area, and will return to Fair Haven Ministries for evening worship and programming.

Family Mission Trips

We’re working on sending Family Mission Trips out this summer to various locations.  June 17-23 we will be going to Birmingham, AL working through CSM.  July 15-21 will be a trip to Noxen, PA, working through a local church.  July 29-August 4 back to Birminham, AL through CSM again.  August 12-18 will be in Whitesburg, KY through H.O.M.E.S., Inc.  We’re looking for 4-6 families per trip. If you’re interested in doing an alternative vacation this summer, stop by Connecting Point on Sunday morning or email Jacki.

Baptism

At our outdoor worship on July 25, plan for a special occasion! If you have not been baptized as a believer - a sign of God’s grace and your faith - we would love to have you be baptized on this day. Make your confession of faith in Jesus public. For more information, email us.

SH Kids Fun Days, Family BBQ, and Worship

Join us for these awesome Wednesdays this summer. From 2:30-5:30pm, kids will have a blast doing all kinds of fun activities, games, singing, and learning about Jesus.  At 5:30pm, we’re inviting the whole South Harbor family out for an outdoor BBQ followed by worship outdoors (weather permitting). And we’ll close the summer on August 22 with a special concert.  Get these dates on your calendar now!! June 27, July 11, July 25, August 8, and August 22.  Pre-register kids HERE through June 20.

Willow Creek Leadership Summit

If you’re a leader or want to be a leader, you don’t want to miss this conference simulcast at Kentwood Community Church. Join others from South Harbor and Fair Haven as we learn from amazing leaders on August 9&10. We get a special price discount, so if you’re interested, talk with Pastor Tom. This is a great opportunity to reach out to a friend or business colleague and introduce them to other Christian leaders and influencers as well.
